Letters Page

Welcome to the Letters Page, everybody! I'm going to start out a little different this month and promote my very first CD-ROM! The disc, which is available for the incredibly low price of just $10 shipped (U.S. orders), focuses on the Target & the Targeteers, a Pure Excitement Comics favorite!
The disc features 15 Target stories not previously reprinted on this site, scanned at a higher quality than those online here, as well as rescanned versions of the three previously-featured stories, for a total of 18 great tales! The stories included are from Target Comics vol. 3 no. 1, 3/12, 4/3, 4/10, 4/11, 5/3, 5/4, 6/1, 6/2, 7/1, 7/5, 7/7, 7/9, 8/1 and 8/6, as well as 4 Most Comics vol. 5 no. 1.
In order to read these stories, all you need is a web browser and a CD-ROM drive (one that doesn't have trouble reading homemade CD-ROMs), and it is recommended that your monitor be set at a resolution of at least 800x600. For detailed ordering information, e-mail me at williamnolan@yahoo.com.

Hope you enjoyed the latest issue of Pure Excitement Comics! Here is a letter I received following the last issue:
It was great seeing Sgt. Spook and Dynamic Man in PE 19. I first discovered these and other golden age comics in the old IW-Super reprints when I was a kid. I'm starting to get into Golden Age comics again big time, thanks to your site. I've also sent in a membership form to the Goldenagers discussion club.
   Keep up the good work.

Fred Miller

Glad you liked the issue. Hope you and others can make a better use of the Goldenagers club than I ever did. It seems to have really taken off in the past few weeks, with a bunch of new members and a fantastic collection of links. I'm glad to hear my site has lead to your return to Golden Age collecting, I just hope it hasn't caused you to spend way too much on eBay, like I have been lately. (Just a lame plea, everyone, but if you see an auction with "bnolan" as the high bidder, have mercy -- it will probably end up reprinted here anyway!)
That's it for the letters from the last month. See you next month!

Golden Age Cover Gallery
Golden Age cover

In the gallery this month is the cover of Clue Comics no. 4. The above comic is the source of the Zippo story which kicked off this issue. The character featured on the cover is Boy King, who fought evil with the aid of a rock giant (I'm not kidding). I'd reprint that story, but it is one part of a multi-part story...
