Welcome to
Pure Excitement Comics, the number one source for original
Golden Age comic book reprints on the Web!
Hey, everybody,
welcome to the the 22nd issue!
First up this month
is another great female character from Quality Comics: Wildfire.
The story is from Smash Comics no. 37 published in November of
1942. Wildfire appeared in Smash Comics 25-37.
Our second feature this month
is the great Basil Wolverton's Spacehawk, from
Target Comics vol. 2 no. 4, published in June of 1941 by Funnies Incorporated.
Spacehawk appeared in Target Comics vol. 1 no. 5 through vol. 3 no. 10. Reprints
also appeared in later issues of Blue Bolt Comics.
In the final spot this issue
is Chuck Magnon, the Immortal Man, from
Red Dragon Comics no. 9, published in January of 1944 by Street and Smith
Publications, Inc. As far as I can tell, this was the character's only appearance.
Hope you enjoy this issue. Also,
the Target and the Targeteers CD-ROM is still available!
More information about the disc, which costs a mere $10 (shipped), can be found at
